You can earn Provisional MHRT/C Level A Certification with an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved human services field. This website lists all regionally accredited colleges and universities and is updated regularly. If you would like to learn about degrees that have been approved for Provisional Level A certification, please see Appendix C in the Procedural Guidelines. If you have any questions about whether a degree qualifies for Provisional Level A certification, please feel free to contact CFL. Please see Appendix A for a list of where courses are available.
Your Provisional MHRT/C Level A Certification is effective for one year from the date of issue. Therefore, you will have one year to complete the five specific competency requirements for Provisional Level B certification. If you complete these requirements before your certificate expires, you are eligible for Provisional Level B certification and will have an additional two years to complete the remaining requirements for Full MHRT/C certification. Please note that a provisional certificate cannot be reissued once it expires.
