New Staff
Amber Rogers has joined the Center For Learning staff serving in an administrative role for the Certified Intentional Peer Support Services (CIPSS) program.
Amber brings a wealth of experience in administrative support and process improvement. She has a natural talent for prioritizing projects, anticipating needs, and finding creative ways to make systems more effective and efficient. Her fresh ideas and sharp organizational skills are already making an impact in the world of CIPSS.
Ms. Rogers began her journey in the world of healthcare and data management in 2008, working as a CNA, later changing professions in 2012 working a day program for IDD clients. Amber attended UMFK/UMA from 2014-2020 where she worked hard to raise her own family and acquire her degree in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While navigating childcare challenges during the pandemic, she had to put her degree on hold. She is now ready to pursue her long-term career goals in addition to supporting the impactful work at The Cutler Institute.
In addition to her professional experience, Amber has significant personal experience as a natural support and advocate for her youngest brother, who has engaged in the behavioral health system from a young age. With multiple diagnoses leading to disability, he now lives in a group home as a young adult. Her involvement in advocating for his needs has given her valuable insights into navigating the behavioral health system and supporting individuals with unique challenges. She understands the needs and barriers associated with creating and locating resources and is eager to contribute to the success of the educational community.
MHRT/C Renewal Process
Please share the following with your staff.
Reminder: MHRT/C Renewal is for individuals who hold a two-year Full MHRT/C (one that does not list any missing Domains on it). If your certificate lists missing Domains, you need to work on completing those, and NOT continuing education.
You can find the Continuing Education requirements on our website.
Yes, if your two-year Full MHRT/C has lapsed, you can have it reinstated by completing the required continuing education as listed on the above link. Scroll down to the section labeled “What if I’m late in submitting my paperwork?” for your slightly different requirements.
By following the tips below, it will speed up the process for everyone
- Keep the Center for Learning up to date on your current email address. CFL sends out a courtesy email 90 days prior to your two-year Full MHRT/C expiration date. Every month roughly 10 percent of the emails sent out bounce as they are no longer valid. The reminder is a courtesy sent to the last known email on file. The certificate holder is still responsible for submitting their paperwork on time whether or not they receive that email. Send your updated email address to cfl@maine.edu.
- Make sure you are using the current form found on our Continuing Education webpage. Older forms contain our old email. We don’t receive emails sent to that old email (cfl-muskie@maine.edu).
- Please list the trainings you are submitting on the Renewal Form. Our staff use this as a cross-check to ensure all documents you submit are accounted for.
- Remember to include the training certificates with the renewal form. Your certificates need to include the following on them: Your name, training name, date completed, number of hours of training, and who provided the training. We will also accept Relias transcripts.
- If you cannot combine your renewal form and training certificates into one file, please rename your training certificates starting with the number as they are listed on the renewal form. Example, if your third training on your list is Ethics 101, the file should be called “3 Ethics 101” or “certificate 3” or similar. Again, this makes it faster for our staff to receive and process your paperwork. If you need to provide photos, please save them in one of the following formats: jpeg, gif, or tiff. We cannot open heic files.
- Please do not submit anything not listed on your renewal form. For example, we have received zip files with every training an individual has ever completed. We will return these to you and ask you to only submit what is needed.
- Please do not submit a copy of your current MHRT/C, PowerPoint slides from your trainings, or training descriptions. If we need the latter, we will ask you for it.
- Please submit your paperwork early in your 90-day window if possible. Should our staff find an issue with your paperwork, this will give you time to resolve that issue prior to your expiration date and avoid a gap in your certification.
- Upon submitting your paperwork, you should receive a confirmation email back within two business days.
- Email is the quickest way to submit your paperwork (cfl@maine.edu). Followed by fax (626-5022). Avoid mail if at all possible. It can take a week or more for us to receive your envelope through the mail.
